The number one question I get asked is: Why glasses? It’s a fair question. We’ve seen AI assistants in phones, smartwatches, and even pins. So why is Gobi putting AI into glasses? The answer is simple: because glasses is the most natural, intuitive, and ergonomically right way to merge AI with everyday life.

Why hands-free matters

We don’t need another gadget to carry around. Our pockets are already full—phones, keys, wallets. A personal AI agent should just be there when you need it, without requiring you to pull it out, tap on a screen, or strap it to your wrist. Rabbit R1 made a huge mistake on choosing another pocket device as there was no user experience and design thinking involved. Glasses let AI blend into your life effortlessly. You put them on in the morning and forget they’re even there—until they help you at just the right moment.

Why Not Other Wearables?

Over the last few years, companies have tried all kinds of wearables to bring AI into the real world. But they all have major limitations:

• Wristbands & Rings: Great for fitness tracking, but they can’t “see” the world around you. And without vision, AI is missing half the picture.

• Necklaces & Pins: A camera hanging from your neck? Not exactly practical—or stable. How are we going to wear it when we wear hoodie or jackets? And a pin? It works for specific situations (like meetings), but it’s not something people are naturally used to wearing every day.

• Earphones & Earrings: Sure, they work for audio, but they can’t capture the full context of your surroundings. Plus, earrings aren’t universal—some people don’t even wear them and still not gender neutral unless really breakthrough the culture.

• Clip-On Attachments: Attaching a device to your glasses might sound like an easy solution, but let’s be honest—nobody wants a bulky gadget stuck on their frames.

• Humanoid Robots: As fun as that sounds, the world isn’t quite ready to carry robots around. Not yet, at least.

Why glasses just make sense

2. They’re discreet: A well-designed pair just looks like, well, glasses. No weird stares, no awkward moments.

3. They’re always on you: Unlike a phone that gets left on a table or a smartwatch you might take off, glasses are worn consistently throughout the day.

Here’s the thing: AI is only as smart as the data it gets. Audio alone isn’t enough. It’s like giving AI a fraction of the story. Think about it—when we talk, we’re already summarizing our thoughts, compressing complex observations into words. But the world? The world itself is raw, unfiltered information.
